Pondering the size of a cheese burger and hamburger from McDonalds.

As I was munching on a deliciously decadent big n tasty burger from McDonalds, I was sit to wonder as to when McD’s only had cheese burgers and hamburgers in their menu, whether back then it was as small as it is now.

I mean come on, i can get an entire hamburger into my mouth if i squash it a little bit and I have a small mouth.

Did they purposely shrink their hamburgers so people would buy a big mac?

Were people more healthy back then?

Were hamburgers and cheese burgers still 49 cents back then adjusting for inflation?

Questions, answers?

Well for the first time in my life I’m getting a tax refund. Last year I paid around five hundred dollars. The reason for that was that in the fical year of 2000-2001, I sold my domain name at velio.com to a communications company for ten thousand dollars. I had to pay capital gains tax as I bought the domain name in February of 2000 for $14.95 using Dotster.com and then come summer time, when I already had a really high inflated wage because of the dot-com boom, I sold it for a really high markup.

The tax refund I was originally supposed to get cancelled out the capital gains and I ended up paying five hundred dollars. I had a really high wage in fiscal year 2000-2001. I remember bitching about that. Paying taxes I mean. I wish I could bitch about it now.

This year, I’m receiving a refund, but I have no clue as to exactly how much I’m getting from the IRS yet, even though I have already received the funds deposited into my Bank of America Savings account I have not accessed in over 4 years. I have to get my sister to read the acccount number so I can access it. I have an ATM card but I’m not sure if the pin number i remember is correct and it doesn’t matter because it expired 2 years ago.

I hope i got a lot of money. My current wages are really low compared to last year and I need a large amount of money to support my rather extravagant life style.

I guess I haven’t written much in my journal recently. I apologize. I guess I had one of those epiphany type events in which I question why I write for an audience while I pretend not to care what-so-ever about hits. Well I do care, sorta — it acts like a validator. That’s why we blog. Even the so-called anonymous blogs links people and want to be linked back. That’s why we blog. When we blog, we open ourselves up to praise, respect, a sense of belonging, and at the same time, open ourselves up to ridicule, critique, and alienation. And we all get a massive amount of endorphin rush when we find someone praising us, even if it’s a line or two from a guestbook.

That’s why we blog.

Oh my!

hahahhaa

TOOO FUNNY!

Emotional Cheating?

Interesting article has good points about emotional infidelity as opposed to physical infidelity.

Steve Madden, designer of shoes, ripped off millions from investors and is now serving a 40 month prison sentence, but he will still be paid 700,000 a year from his company.

Memento Plot Holes – Don’t read if you have not watched the movie.

The best point that the article has had to offer was that Lenny’s condition was psychological, and I have to agree in that the movie made numerous comments about Sammy’s condition not showing up in tests.

The article made several valid points, but most can be explained by a paragraph within the article itself,

There are several ways that writer-director Christopher Nolan could explain these plot holes. Here’s one: If Leonard repeats something enough, he can condition himself to remember it. That’s how he remembers he has short-term memory loss; that’s how he remembers his argument with the cops about the second rapist. Unfortunately this means the story is reduced to “He can’t make new memories –except when he can,” and the already-murky plot turns to mush.

A better– and by no means mutually exclusive– argument is that Leonard’s condition isn’t physical at all but psychological. Leonard is capable of making new memories and does, at times (he remembers the insulin story, although the protagonists get smudged, as if in a dream). Mostly, though, he chooses to forget everything in order to a) bypass pain; and b) give his life meaning. But if his condition is a defense mechanism brought on by his wife’s rape, shouldn’t he have shaken out of it before the third insulin injection killed her? And if his short-term memory loss was brought on by the pain of his wife’s rape, why does he choose to remember the rape? Is he torturing himself? Is he torturing us? And is his memory loss after his wife’s death different than his memory loss after his wife’s rape?

Tone of the article itself is questioning, but I look at it and I say that the director was a genius. The premise of the movie wasn’t simple memory loss, but the fragile tendency for us to change memory whenever we want– and when we don’t want to remember.

So anyways, what kind of asian are you?

Oh yeah, it doesn’t apply to all asians, it applies to “orientals”. =)
